The Historic Elliott House

I decided to share this gorgeous home! It's a historic house that located in Eutaw, Alabama. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 2 half baths. Also, this beauty has a basement, 2-car garage, wood floors, and original wood windows. Oh boy, I wish I could buy every house like this and just make it home!

Here is the link if you want to see all the details about the property. I also got the picture from there. Enjoy :)

Drying Rack and Tablecloth

I went to the thrift store a little bit ago and got this drying rack...for five dollars! It has a little crack but I'm just gonna fill it with wood putty.

I'm gonna spray paint it and the sand some corners to roughen it up a bit. I'll post some pictures once I finish :)

I also got this tablecloth for five bucks. It's blue and white as you can see and from Holland. It's rather large and will look great on my big wooden dining table!

It's nice and big and has beautiful windmills and such.

Cabinet Remodel

So my son was getting rid of this cute little thing which he was using as a medicine cabinet. It was all white with shelves, beadboard, and silver knobs. When I saw it I knew I had to take it home to give it a little remodel!

It had stains all over it that wouldn't come off with anything I tried. I thought I was going to have to paint it. But I tried Soft Scrub...and it worked...like always. Seriously, if you dont already have this stuff you need to get some. I always use it on my cermaic sink when the pots & pans leave scratches.

I used Martha Stewart Sea Glass paint. It's such a pretty color!

Here's the finished product! I also changed the knobs but you really can't see them in this picture. They're glass and a light green/teal color.

It took three coats of paint and I used one of those craft foam brushes because the one that came with the paint was to small.

The first item in the cabinet :)

I got it for $3 at an antique mall. It said it was a soap drainer but i think it's used for dying eggs because of the shape. But it is sooo cute, I love it.

Usual Tips, Maybe?

So it's been raining today which means organizing and cleaning the house. That's when I came across the idea of giving any readers that I hope I will eventually get tips on everyday things. So here's to tip #1? :)

Freshening a Room: To freshen a room boil orane peel and cloves in a pan and place the pan with the hot liquid in the room for a little bit. It smells amazing! By the way, isn't that a cute print?

New to This

Hello, my name is Veronica (or "Mita" as family and friends call me) and I decided to make this blog because so many other blogs have inspired me. I feel pretty stupid writing this since I have zero followers but I'll continue writing as if I had a thousand ;)
So this blog will pretty much be about improving my home that I have lived in with my family for about 20 years, ideas with flea market & antique finds, and other stuff that I love. I hope anyone who reads this likes it. Thanks!
